Conductor, composer and pianist Duke Ellington (1899-1974), part 60. A tribute with Stayhorn compositions only, by Ellington for Billy Stayhorn who died at the age of 51 in 1967. He was not just Ellington’s right hand but also fellow composer and arranger for the group between 1940 and 1967. De recordings were made in 1967.
