Trumpet player Clifford Brown (1930-1956), part 1. He started to play trumpet at the age of 13 and soon his exceptional talent was noticed.
He then was discovered by piano player Tadd Dameron and played in Lionel Hampton’s big band for a while. Today quintet recordings with alto saxophone player Lou Donaldson from 1953. ‘Brownie’ was 22 years old at the time.
