He was called ‘The moustache who sings’ (El bigote que canta) because of his large moustache. Bienvenido Granda is the most important singer of the early days. With him as the ‘vocal face’ the orchestra developed itself from 1944 till the beginning of the Época de Oro in the early 50’s. He was part of the orchestra for 11 years and made most of the records with them (217)
