Magazine from folk to world music.
In its June-July edition, bimonthly music magazine New Folk Sounds offers another diverse look behind the scenes of folk, roots and world music and everything in between. There are some spearheads this time, such as some extra attention for African music in two main articles, and Belgium is given some attention in two interviews as well. In addition to the other interviews and background articles, the regular features return such as news, the summer agenda and many pages filled with reviews. We illustrate this episode of New Folk Sounds on Air with music that the magazine writes about. In 90 minutes we travel across the continents, alternating genres, hearing traditional as well as contemporary songs, contemporary and authentic arrangements, and combinations of instruments that expand the radio commentary.
