Carl Michael von Hausswolff (1956) lives and works in Stockholm. Since the end of the seventies he has used the tape recorder as his most important instrument. As a sound artist he creates installations at which he uses tone generators, oscillators, radar, the electricity network of buildings, sonar and airwaves to register electronic frequencies and disturbances and make them audible. His approach looks scientific. He also uses the electricity network and the frequencies in the air as starting point for his compositions.
