You can listen to part 1 of a programme in three parts with folk music from Peru. First, festival music from the city Cuzco. The music is from a series of seven parts of the Smithsonian Folkways label.
The festivals are usually on religious holidays to honour the patron saints of who statues can be found in various regional churches.
