Kim Cascone (1955) is an American composer of electronic music. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, the Institute of Audio Research and the RCA Institute, both in New York. He worked for Crumar Synthesizers and Eventide. In 1983 he moved to San Francisco to work on his musical career. Since 1985 he has released music under the name of PGR. In 1986 he started his own record label Silent Records. At the end of 1989 he became assistant music editing of David Lynch for Twin Peaks and Wild At Heart. From 1993 till 1996 he primarily made ambient music under the name of Heavenly Music Corporation. Since 1998 he has made music under his own name. From then on he has primarily worked with computer language Csound and with audio software Max-MSP. Sonicon 1-2 was composed with Csound and Dust Theories was composed with Max-MSP. Foldover Dust is a remix of *0’s "0.000" CD. Cathodeflower is a part of the triptych Blue Cube and cubeQuadratische is a remix of that number. GPS Jammer Output (2003) is on a CD of collective works which was released as a protest against the war in Iraq.
