Trumpet player Tony Fruscella (1927-1969) chose jazz after a classical education, but remained rather unknown. In 1948 he formed his first group and in the 50s he was active in the Open Door club in New York. Fruscella also worked with Gerry Mulligan and Stan Getz, but this hour features recordings of his own name.
