Orchestra leader, composer and pianist Duke Ellington (1899-1974) part 27. In 1970, his orchestra recorded a 9-part suite entitled ‘New Orleans Suite’ as a tribute to this city from which jazz is said to have originated. As an encore, to conclude with, rare recordings of the Ellington piano trio from 1953.
