Will Holland also known as Quantic is a British multi-instrumentalist, band leader, producer, DJ and record collector. He has lived in Colombia for the past seven years. His moving to the highlands of Bogotá have encouraged a renewed interest in the more psychedelic and experimental side of the rhythmic music from the Caribbean, Latin America and Africa. Calling Quantic versatile would be an understatement: there is a DJ Quantic but also Quantic Soul Orchestra, Quantic and his Combo Bárbaro (Colombian folklore), Flowering Inferno (reggae-fusion), Los Miticos Del Ritmo (acoustic cumbia), Ondatrópica (Colombians all-stars band led by Quantic) and a lot more!
DJ Safri made a selection of the enormous amount of releases, collaborations, co-productions and remixes out of which he compiled the Quantic Megamix, including a lot of attention for the new album ‘Magnetica’ (tracks 7,17,18,22) which was released early May.
Quantic and band can be heard live on Sunday the 11th of May in Bird, Rotterdam and on the 12th of May in the North Sea Jazz Club in Amsterdam.
