Big bands with local tones.
Orkestra Rumpilezz with conductor Letieres Leite from Brazil was one of the highlights from the past MusicMeeting in Nijmegen. With five percussionists and fifteen wind players it unites in the oral afro brazilian percussion tradition of Bahia and contemporary conservatory jazz. Occidental de Fanfare is a Breton big band who recently performed at the Baraná Festival in Utrecht.
