Episode 8: Society Red. In 1958 tenor saxophone player Ike Quebec not only made his comeback at Blue Note but he also became advisor of the composition of bands and repertoire and the music. Tenor player Hank Mobley was one of the artists who was often heard in the studio of Rudy van Gelder. The number “Society Red” by tenor player Dexter Gordon became a signature tune.
