In this Pakrammel attention for the music of Pierre Courbois. Pierre Courbois has been the leading man of Dutch jazz for a while now. In the meanwhile he has been on stage for over 57 years. In april 2015 he turns 75 and will celebrate this with an extensive tour.
Especially for this tour Pierre Courbois has put together a new ensemble, PC Quintet, existing of several jazz stars with whom Courbois performed during his versatile career. Niko Langenhuijsen, piano. Egon Kracht, contra bass. Toon de Gouw, trumpet. Ilja Reijngoud, trombone. Jan Menu, baritone and soprano saxophone. The last two musicians alternate during this tour. Unfortunately there aren’t recordings of this ensemble available yet. During the episode there will be attention for various ensembles of Courbois, including: Unscuare Roots and the PC Quintet with Reouverture and Live in Germany.
