Martin Simpson – even in the studio a preference for live music.
‘Murmurs’, the new CD by master guitar player and folk icon Martin Simpson with violin player and singer Nancy Kerr and accordion player Andy Cutting, was recorded in the studio after a preliminary tour of two weeks; so all parts were recorded in one go at the same time, just like a live concert with an audience. Simpson is so enthusiastic about this method he actually cannot imagine anything else. His previous project ‘The Full English’ was also established this way.
