The Vegetarian by Korean writer Han Kang. About a young woman who decides overnight to no longer eat meat.
In 21st century South Korea it is not accepted to be a vegetarian or a homosexual, or even women not wearing a bra. This is seen as shocking.
But mainly the book is about the intensive search of both the husband, the brother in law and the sister to the actual motives of the woman.
