Which drummer has the most cymbals?
Michael Vatcher (1954) is an American drummer and percussionist who has been living in the Netherlands for a good while. He grew up in California and played in the US with people like Michael Moore, John Handy and Terry Gibbs.
In 1981 he came to Amsterdam where he played with a bunch of people and bands such as Michiel Braam, the Maarten Altena Ensemble, de Ex, Tristan Honsinger and Ernst Reijseger.
Nowadays he accompanies many modern dancers and he makes music at the theatre. With reed player Michael Moore, also emigrated from the US, he already has a long relation from the Michael Moore octet. Furthermore they often play in duo.
Other important bands are ‘1000’ with Bart Maris, Jan Klare and Wilbert de Joode, and the RKET (with Luc Ex and Jan Klare).
