Andreas Staier is one of the few harpsichordists who can play the harpsichord, fortepiano and piano.
He was the regular harpsichordist of Musica Antiqua Köln and was teacher at the Schola Cantorum Baseliensis, and he has become one of the leading performers on the pianoforte. He has been collaborating for many years with tenor Christoph Prégardien.
He also performed as a soloist with Concerto Köln, Freiburger Barockorchester and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
