Malam Mamane Barka
A double concerto where first of all you can listen to Malam Mamane Barka and Oumarou Adamou. In the second part you will hear Solo DJA Kabaco guitar and vocals and Doubata Diarra, percussion and vocals. The concert was recorded in the then fully operated Tropentheater in Amsterdam on 11 December 2010.
The concert starts with a performance by Malam Mamane Barka, singer and player of the five string Biram, a sacred instrument from the Nigerian Boudou tribe, Nigerian fishing people who migrate along the banks of Lake Chad.
Solo Dja Kabaco
In the second part of the double concerto you will hear Solo Dja Kabaco, guitar and vocals and Doubata Diarra, percussion.
Solo Dja Kabaco is a blind guitarist and vocal artist from Burkina Faso who accompanies himself, but he also uses the guitar as a lively percussion instrument. In the ow region he has grown into a new desert blues phenomenon who fuses his African manding with salsa and zouk.
