Piano dreams.
In the heart of summer we are carried calmly through the most beautiful piano music. Solo piano dreams by well known and lesser known composers. From splashing impressionism to hallucinatory minimalism, from lucid improvisations to chilling interpretations. In this two hour long Theme we will listen to recent piano compositions, improvisations and performances by Harold Budd, ‘Blue’ Gene Tyranny, Galeshka Moravioff, Anthony Coleman and Girma Yifrashewa. As icing on the cake we will hear the unique, ultra-slow performances by Erik Satie’s classical piano works by the American composer Philip Corner.
