"…my name is Stefano Giannotti, I’m an Italian composer, radio-artist and song-writer. You might already know my name, ’cause I’m working since 1996 for Public German radio stations, especially Deutschlandradio Kultur in Berlin and SWR in Baden-Baden, but in past I’ve been broadcasted also by Dutch radio (Cafè Sonore) and many other radio stations worldwide, including ABC in Sydney. My work develops on the borderline between radio and video-art, song-writing, chamber-music and art-rock. A large part of my work is devoted to making music with objects and natural sounds, with a particular attention to lo-fi, small cassette-players, people’s voice, landscape, all supported by an ironic performing mood. In this branch I embrace also some specific sound-art projects dedicated to children, sometimes in collaboration with the Italian dance theatre group BLU COMPANY. I’ve got twice the prestigious Karl-Sczuka-Preis (2002 and 2007) and recently (2012) I’ve produced a work combining chanson and radio-art for SWR in Baden-Baden (AMORE MIO -Love Songs und anderer Kram, 2012, Prix Italia Shortlist 2013)…"
