On his latest CD Ibn Battuta Jordi Savall and his ensemble Hespèrion XXI follow the musical footsteps of the Arabian traveler Ibn Battuta.
This 22-year old left Marocco in 1325 to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca. This resulted in a 29-year long journey in Northern Africa, Egypt, Syria, Saoudi Arabia and Iraq before he traveled further to Russia, India and even China.
