Coming 27 May, the world famous Indian bamboo-flute player Hariprasad Chaurasia (born 1938) gives a raga concert in the Nieuwe Kerk in Den Haag. Chaurasia is a living legend in the world of Indian classical music. He has proven himself in many musical fields during his long career. He excels as flutist with his improvisations as interpreter of the North Indian raga music; he is praised for his work as composer of film music; and he has been productive together with musicians from the fields of jazz and western classic.
Within the field of Indian raga music, Hariprasad Chaurasia is an innovator, but also a keeper of the traditions. He has built a fantastic reputation as teacher and has taught flutists from all over the world. In World Minerals, you can listen to the master flutist play some raga interpretations.
