Traditional classical music from Iraq.
Farida, a top singer since the last century who had to flee her country because of the regime of Saddam. She moved to the Netherlands. She was the only woman who was allowed to sing classical Iraqi ‘makkams’. We play from her an interpretation of: -Makkam nahawand; -Madri ana; -Al-rikbanya. CD. Snail, SR-66004.
