A musical serial. Episode 20: Ambient Colours
Sometimes the best guide is not an idea but just the direction the music wants to go. The minimal C major piano in last weeks Youssef’s Song is strongly reminiscent of Brian Eno’s classic 1-1, from the album Music for Airports. That leads us into ambient, music that fits the time of year (on the Northern Hemisphere, that is). We try to provide further colouring with works by Brother Saturn, The Next Commuter and Julio Di Benedetto.
