American pianist Phineas Newborn (1931-1989). He is a true virtuoso on this instrument, in a style that takes swing towards hard bop. Unfortunetaly, he never became really known as his unstable career was flocked with mental and phycical issues. Today, recordings from his glory days, 19566 and 1958, in small line-ups.
