New releases of Karim Baggili, Shishani, Oum and Gaye Su Akyol
Karim Baggili is a Belgian guitar and ud player, but is also a composer, singer and arranger. He was in The Netherlands at the Ud Festival and in October was a guest at Acoustic Roots. There, he played tracks from his latest album and left the audience astounded and amazed by his wondrous guitar and ud playing..
The compositions on Apollo You Sixteen are technically more complex than his earlier work, but have kept their melodious lines.

In the latest project of guitarist and singer/songwriter Shishani, the debut album Itaala van Shishani & The Namibian Tales, she has collected an impressive group of musicians: German kora-speler Debby Korfmacher, Hungarian cellist Bence Huzar and Dutch percussionist Sjahin During.

Oum’s career started by releasing her first two albums ‘Lik’Oum’ (2009) and ‘Sweerty’ (2012).
Her fourth album ‘Zarabi’ was recorded last year in the South Morrocan desert of M’Hamid El Ghizlane and is heavily affected by the unique surroundings of the Sahara.
She will be performing at the Meervaart in Amsterdam on 16 December 2016.

Gaye Su Akyol is a singer from Istanbul. She is inspired by both Anatolian music and the western music of Nirvana, Nick Cave etc. We play two songs of her album Hologram Impoaratorlugu.
