This night is dedicated to the British label ‘Arc Music’, that releases world and folk music from over 120 countries.

Music of Angola with Manual Diogo.
Colourful music from Angola, an equatorial African country with a mixed and varied musical history. On this album, singer/songwriter Manuel Diogo plays the contagious sounds of traditional and contemporary Angolan gospel music; he mixes together various popular styles like ‘semba’, ‘rebita’, mainstream Angolese folk, and Noord-Angolese ‘Kintweni’ rhythms.

The Sounds Of Varanasi, a unique sound journey through the holy city by Srdjan Beronja.
The sounds of the holy city of Varanasi (Benares) in India, are a unique collection of field recordings and original music by Serbian musicologist Srdjan Beronja, that he made between 2001 and 2011. You will hear live recordings from classical Indian music, ‘Sanskrit’ prayer recitals, temple bells and other sounds.

Folk Music from Peru by Wayna Picchu.
Wayna Picchu is a young Peruvian group with three brothers who learned how to play several string instruments and flutes from a young age. Their music, which may be traditional, has a slight contemporary edge. In addition to traditional instruments, they also use keyboards and basses. This CD is a happy medium for both fans of traditional music and listeners who are looking for a more contemporary approach.

Music from IraqBabylonian Fingers by Ahmed Mukhtar.
Ahmed Mukhtar,  the master, former soloist, composer, and music consultant presents new interpretations of rich Iraqi and Middle Eastern music, based on ‘magams’ and rhythms of ancient Babylon. He plays using both old and innovative techniques and harmonies.

Kenyan singer Slim Ali (Mombasa 1947), with his band The Hodi Boys, released three albums in the 60’s and 70’s. The compilation CD 70′s Soul!’ gives a wonderful view on his work. The album is swinging with soul and pop songs from this Kenyan legend, who wrote musical history with his hit ‘You can do it’ in 1977.
