A musical serial. Episode 41: Last night the moon came dropping its clothes in the street.
The album Last Night The Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes In The Street by Jon Hassell. Last week we mentioned Hassel’s concept of the Fourth World, music for a melting pot of different cultures in the modern age. Last Night The Moon Came is a marvelous album in this style. The album clearly owes to African and Indian cultures, as well as the work of Miles Davis with Teo Macero (see Sensenta #15 as well). A wonderful mixture of electronics, jazz and modern classical music.
