Radiation
A mix crammed with new releases and exclusive re-edits, including for instance Ozomatli from Los Angeles. They covered Santana’s ‘Evil Ways’ in Reggae style. The Malian Songhoy Blues swings more than ever on their new album and Manu Chao is back after years with two loveable tracks which have been given a funky touch in this mix. Then there’s the Nigerian Electronics by Ibibio Sound Machine (picture).
There are also some relaxing parts, for instance the well known ‘Cecom’ by the Turkish collective Baba Zula with vocals from Brenna Mac Crimmon. On their latest double album ‘XX’ they went ahead and did it all over again sitting at the controls.
There’s also later work such as the 80s Reggae by Steve Black or the tropical trance by Moloko, 17 years ago already.
Furthermore various dashes of Latin, Afrobeat and Dub. The opening track is from dance pioneers Leftfield, who released a re-issue with remixes from their legendary ‘Leftism’…For the fans: there is a triple vinyl LP edition available. Check One!
