New releases attracting international attention.
Haydn 2032 | Il Giardino Armonico
Baritone Riccardo Novaro and the ensemble Il Giardino Armonico conducted by Giovanni Antonini.
It will take a while yet, some 15 years, but in 2032 Joseph Haydn was born 300 years ago. The Swiss city of Basel has a kind of Haydn Society, and they are planning on a spectular celebration. That is why they initiated to cooperate with record label Alpha, in order to record all Haydn’s symphonies. There are more than 100, so you’ll understand they want to take plenty of time for that. The job has been given to conductor Giovanni Antonini, and as the musical director of both Il Giardino Armonico and the Chamber Orchestra Basel, it will fit him like a glove.
