Part 3 in our series of four about Johnny Hallyday (1943-2017).
Today we’ll talk about the albums which he released in the years 1982-2011. After his divorce with Sylvie Vartan there are diverse short-lived marriages, before Hallyday settles down with the 32-year old younger Laeticia, with whom he adopts two little girls. He experiences health problems, but his albums and mega concerts remain unabatedly popular. The rock and blues hold his preference, which leads to a conflict with record label Philips, where one rather hears commercial songs. Also after his transfer to Warner, he keeps recording chanson-like songs next to his wilder repertoire.
