The baroque spirit in all his musical shapes. Matthias Weckmann: born 400 years ago.
Matthias Weckmann (1619-1674) was Heinrich Schütz’s pupil and became the organist of the St. Jacobi church (St James’ church) in Hamburg. His most important contribution was the foundation of the Collegium Musicum Hamburg.
