The World of Amelia Thomas

Following a few years living and studying in Amsterdam, Amelia returned to Canada to complete her Jazz Studies at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, BC. Since graduation she has has been busy with live and session work with many fast-rising acts such as Old.Soul.Rebel, Top Men, and national acts such as Sloan and The Kerplunks.

In conversation with her, she introduces her new solo project where she uses her beautiful voice, trumpet and looping technology to deliver original, beloved and obscure folk songs from across the world. She also talks about her city, its music scene, her travels to Iceland, depression and the sum of all of that revokes a warm sense of nostalgia in Amelia’s music.
