Jazz, blues and nostalgia, by Sjaak Roodenburg.
A (more or less) funny Palace, with bassist Major Holley who turns pub song ‘Angel Eyes’ into a humorous tribute to composer Matt Dennis; Johnny & Jones about a spider trying to kill a fly by tactically seducing it; Charlie Drake’s clumsy actions with a boomerang, which refuses to return; parodist Stan Freberg crushing ‘C’est si bon’; George Formby with his ‘banjolele’; French composer, arranger and sound wizard André Popp, a motorway-race between a Cadillac and a Nash by The Playmates; music comedian Ray Stevens; world champion whistler Geert Chatrou and ‘the man of a thousand voices’ Mel Blanc. Also some cool jazz to compensate for the heavy dose of entertainment.
