Minimal music with a sultry, Mediterreanean touch.

In Italy, in the 70s and 80s, a number of composers were inspired by repetitive music from across the United States. With a great feeling for theatre, opera and film music, they gave minimal music their own expressive twist. You can hear some Reich and Glass effects, but it is all just that bit more sensual and seductive. In today’s Theme, some outstanding musicians who are representative of the Italian minimal: Piero Milesi, Franco Battiato, Roberto Cacciapaglia en Lino Capra Vaccina.
