Almost 30 years ago, banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck (see photo) and the Wooten brothers (bass guitar and electronic percussion) created a sensation by fusing hillbilly music, funk and jazz. They became a sensational live act as Béla Fleck & The Flecktones. However, they did not get much following. Mandolin player Matt Flinner and his quartet made a serious attempt with their album Walking On the Moon.
