Two live recordings of concerts organized by Instruments Make Play and De Perifeer in Kunstenlab, Deventer, NL.
The first recording is Calum Stirling playing his self-built mechanical orchestra ‘Remote Village aka The Frolicsome Engines’ on October 6th 2019.
The second recording is Slumberland (Jochem Baelus) playing his self-built mechanical orchestra on December 8th 2017.
Their mechanical orchestras actually have quite a similar appearance; a rather large rack with all kinds of connected equipment.
That similar appearance is the main reason to join these recordings here, but at the same time that is where most similarities between the two performances end.
Also both performances were part of an Instruments Make Play event, of which several more are coming up this year. Come check them out:
27 October – 1 December: Instruments Make Play expo in Kunstenlab, Deventer
1 December: Lecture by Cathy van Eck in Kunstenlab, Deventer
14 December: Instruments Make Play fair/showcases in Worm, Rotterdam
