In this episode of Between Dreams and Reality, Bruckner’s 7th symphony, which is a tribute to Richard Wagner.
This work is about the death of Richard Wagner. This composer died in Venice on 13 February 1883. For this reason, Bruckner prescribes the use of Wagner tubas in this piece, which we can hear especially in the adagio, the second piece of this symphony. Since the complete symphony is too long for this broadcast, we only play the first three parts. The fourth part is partly played, as encore. In the next episode we will play the fourth part entirely.
- Bruckner, 7th Symphony, No.1 to 3.
- Bruckner, 7th Symphony, No.4 (encore).
