The wayward Prokofiev

fri 2 apr 2021 12:00 hrs

Prokofiev. V. A docudrama about one of the most prominent and independent composers of the 20th century.

Every fortnight, ‘Prokofiev: a modernist on his own terms’ has an hour-long feature of the life and work of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, undoubtedly one of the greatest composers of the twentieth century. In this episode, we’ll listen to his first piano concert from 1912, a lost toccata, and three piano sonatas by his rival and nationalist (musically speaking) A. Scriabin.
