Concertzender World Music Live: Norland Wind – From Shore to Shore.

Because of the corona-virus, the team of Concertzender Live cannot record any new concerts. To keep in the programme’s right mindset, we will listen to live recordings of concerts, but they are official CD or DVD releases. In this episode, we’ll listen to the album ‘From Shore to Shore’ by the German-Irish band Norland Wind with recordings from concerts given during a tour in 2003. Norland Wind had seven musicians back then: harpist Thomas Loefke; guitarist, bouzouki player, and singer Kerstin Blodig; the Scottish Ian Vance Melrose (guitar, flutes, vocals); the twin-brothers Noel (guitar, vocals) and Padraig Duggan (mandolin, percussion, vocals) from Clannad; the Irish former Riverdance violinist Maire Breatnach (fiddle, vocals) and the German keyboard player and guitarist Matthias Kiessling. The recordings are taken from two performances in the Arsenaaltheater in Vlissingen, which is their home base.
