French violin music by Guillaume Lekeu and Maurice Ravel
In the next hour, you can let yourself be amazed by the French violin music of the world-renowned duo Ibragimova/Tiberghien. Besides the sonata by the Belgian Romantic Guillaume Lekeu, who had an untimely death, this hour features an even less well-known work by student Maurice Ravel. He composed his single-movement sonata when he had just been admitted to Fauré’s class. In his work, you can hear the style influence of his leading examples Fauré and Delius.
