Along unknown roads with the pedal steel.
Recently, the Dutch newspaper Volkskrant gave Chuck Johnson five stars for his pedal steel guitar solo. In contrast to most of his colleagues, he does not play country music on his instrument, but a sort of ambient. Even though this exercise is unusual, it’s not new: more than thirty years ago, the British pedal steel guitar player B.J. Cole released an album with similar music called Transparent Music.
