This second part of this triptych of songs by Diepenbrock, whose 100th death anniversary we commemorated in April, features “Symphonic Songs”, which Diepenbrock himself called “Tongue Poems”. Twice a “Hymne an die Nacht” and his famous “Im grossen Schweigen”. With these songs for voice and orchestra, Diepenbrock put himself at the forefront of the Dutch music world.
