Americana with latino roots.
Linda Ronstadt [see photo highlighted] made a furore as an interpreter of pop songs, first as singer of the Stone Poneys, a folk rock band from the sixties, later as soloist. That her family originated from Mexico only became clear later, when she recorded an album entirely in Spanish: Canciones de Mi Padre. Singer-songwriter Tish Hinojosa [see photo below] also has Latino blood running through her veins, as can be heard on her album Homeland.
