Music from Taiwan by T.S. Lo & Ten Drum.
1- T.S. Lo.
The erhu (two-string spike violin) is undoubtedly the most popular Chinese instrument around the world. In Taiwan, the art of erhu has taken over the local cultural richness and creativity, personifying an ancient music tradition from the Far East. The erhu virtuoso Tanghsuan “TS” Lo navigates between genres and traditions, both folk and erudite. He is as comfortable performing the classical version of the erhu repertoire as he is with melodies inspired by gypsy music, adopting all possible musical repertoires, even recently including jazz and bossa nova.

2- Ten Drum.
Led by Hsieh Shi, the Ten Drum Ensemble was formed in March 2000. This album is their first European release and contains the best songs from the three albums they have released in Taiwan. Besides performing and preparing performances, Hsieh Shi regularly teaches at the Ten Percussion school, and continuously works on his own compositions. The school has its own performance hall and art museum. It is expected that the school will continue to grow for the next generations.
