The Wayward Prokofiev #46
Every fortnight in ‘The Wayward Prokofiev’, an hour-long focus is on the life and work of Russian 20th-century composer Sergei Prokofiev, undoubtedly one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.
Today: Prokofiev has learned his lesson as far as Soviet cultural policy is concerned and takes it easy in his new cantata. And he further milked his successful song Romeo and Juliet into the half-hour piano adaptation, and it too became a success.
