Music from China & Senegal, by Gao Hong & Kadialy Kouyate. And fusion East West with Baluji Shrivastav, Linda Shanovits & Chris Conway.
Gao Hong (Chinese Pipa),
Kadialy Kouyaté (Senegalese Kora).
They play music that is about camaraderie, where people listen to each other and express themselves honestly.
This is how friendship should be, and sums up the relationship Gao and Kadialy have formed since the creation of this project.
The album Terri Kunda shows what can be achieved when complementary forces come together. It shines a light on the new possibilities that can arise when people from all cultures open their hearts to each other.

Indian World Music Fusion-Undiscovered Time. Re-Orient featuring Baluji Shrivastav. While recording this album, Baluji Shrivastav, Linda Shanovitch and Chris Conway realized that they had been making music together for 20 years. Just listen to Portrait of a swan and you will hear very traditional sounding Indian sitar and tabla music from Baluji, which logically transitions into Asian-tinged jazz vocals, to a nice modern sax break from guest Eric Junkes and some musical ‘sparringh’ between sax and sitar before Linda Shanovitch returns with the vocals and proceedings end with a discordant ending. Most of the songs achieve this kind of stunning fusion, the exuberant Celebration draws from Linda’s experiences with Latin music.
