Growing up in a musical environment with professional musicians as parents, Wouter Kühne began performing with them in various groups at a very young age.
At the age of 13, he was admitted to the Junior Jazz College, a part of the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he received lessons from Gerhard Jeltes and Peter Guidi. At 16, he made his debut at the North Sea Jazz Festival. After completing his bachelor’s degree at the same conservatory, he continued his studies with a master’s degree at the Manhattan School Of Music in New York.
Wouter plays with several groups, including the Tijs Klaassen Quintet, the Floris Kappeyne Trio, the Mo van der Does Motet, the Govreen Sever Quartet, and the Shorter Days Trio of Eran Har Even. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Aaron Parks, Dick Oatts, Terrel Stafford, and Jason Marsalis.
