Sparkling voices from Salento.
The region of Salento in the deep south of Italy is home to the tarantella, an exciting mix of music and dance in which tambourines play an important role. Following in the footsteps of Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, the group that conquered the world a few years ago with their swirling show, two exceptional Salentine singers are now making their appearance. Rachele Andrioli [photo] has already been admired during the annual Music Meeting in Nijmegen, and this year it’s the turn of her colleague Maria Mazzotta [photo below]. She will perform during the Pentecost weekend in Park Brakkenstein.
