1- Sonja Bernd’t.
Born in 1938 in Amsterdam, the stage name of Sonja was Johanna Ossedrijver. She was a singer and jewelery designer and married since 1966 to Donald de Marcas (former newsreader and radio play voice at various Radio broadcasters in Hilversum). In 1957 Sonja Bernd’t was on stage for a month in Tom Manders’ cabaret Saint-Germain-des-Prés on Thorbeckeplein in Amsterdam. In 1960 she won first prize at the Jewish song festival in Amsterdam. Sonja had a wide repertoire of Israelite, Greek, French, English, Dutch and Yiddish folk songs. With her own accompaniment, her singing comes into its own. On March 24, 2023, Sonja Bernd’t (85) passed away, together with her husband Donald de Marcas (89). They decided to take their own life together.
